Recognized Veterinary Specialties

Veterinary specialists are veterinarians who have advanced training in various veterinary medical and surgical disciplines and are board certified. In the United States, veterinary specialties are recognized by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) American Board of Veterinary Specialties. At present, there are 22 recognized veterinary specialties. VetSpecialists.com is a joint venture of two of these specialties – the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
